Tectonic

The form echoes tectonic processes—slow shifts, pressure, and accumulation—where layers emerge as traces of underlying forces. It holds a quiet tension, as if shaped deep beneath the surface and brought to rest in a moment of equilibrium.

This vase represents an achievement developed in collaboration with GENCERMORPH and SPECTROOM throughout 2023. At its core, the project builds on a research platform aimed at pushing the boundaries of 3D-printed ceramics. Using mathematical principles as a basis for morphological generation, the exploration moves beyond conventional limitations.

The approach draws on generative design, combining algorithms for mesh generation with space-filling curves as modeling strategies. Tech-driven geometries are balanced by the warmth and softness of colored porcelain.
